Russian Government supports deepening the import conditions of wine and mineral water from Moldova and Georgia

The government of Russian Federation supported on Wednesday, 19 April, the deepening of import conditions of wines and mineral water from Moldova and Georgia. According to Russian reports, the adopted decision is motivated by the intention of Russian deputies to stimulate the authorities of both countries to improve the quality of these goods. The deputies consider that undertaken measures until now do not comply with the norms and conditions of international commerce and the Law on sanitary-epidemiologic situation of the population. 349 legislators of 500 voted for this decision. Wine problem began on 27 March 2006, when Russia banned their imports from Moldova and Georgia. Officials and analysts of Chisinau consider this decision as political, having straight connection with the implementation of the new customs at Moldovan-Ukrainian border.
