Russian citizen who trained activists from Moldova detained in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Russian citizen Alexander Bezrukovny was detained in Bosnia and Herzegovina on suspicion that he had been training pro-Russian activists from the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The foreign press reported, with reference to the Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton, that the Russian man was detained in the city of Bosanska Krupa during an operation coordinated by the Joint Security Service, which monitored the individual's activities. He was wanted by Interpol and was detained after his intention to leave the Bosnian state became known.

The police transmitted all information about the Russian citizen to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and this took over the investigation.

Earlier, the police in the Republic of Moldova reported that pro-Russian activists from Moldova had special training in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the guidance of Russian instructors.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, there were contradictory reactions to the reported training of Moldovans. Minister of Security Nenad Nesic denied that there were such activities in the country. However, Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konakovic confirmed the information about such exercises carried out under the direction of Russians, and promised a thorough investigation.
