Romanian Diaspora asks authorities from Bucharest to hasten passing of Law on Romanians from everywhere
The representatives of the Romanian communities from several countries ask the authorities from Bucharest to work out a strategy for the Romanians who are abroad and to hasten the passing of the Law on Romanians from everywhere. The issue was debated at the Summer University organised in Izvorul Muresului.
According to the Romanian press, the participants sent an open letter to President Traian Basescu and PM Calin-Popescu Tariceanu and presidents of those two chambers of the Romanian Parliament, by means of which they ask for calling a meeting of the Supreme Council for the Defence of the Country dedicated to the Romanians from everywhere.
“The lack of interest for this problem can be considered as an assault upon the national security”, the letter says.
The authorities ask the involvement of the Romanian authorities in hastening the passing of the law and recognising the citizenship of the Romanians from Moldova and Bucovina.
Also the participants ask for the reorganisation of the Department for Romanians from Everywhere, depoliticising and making it less bureaucratic, as well as providing financing for projects, using the European model.
The content of the letter was decided by the representatives of the Romanian organisations and communities from Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Germany, etc.
