Romania will offer three scholarships of excellence for foreign citizens with Romanian origins
Romania will offer three pre-higher education scholarships for 2006-2007 to the foreign citizens with Romanian origins. The 10 month scholarships with a monthly quantum of EUR 900 will be offered for researches in the humanitarian and social fields.
According to the Press Bureau of the Romanian Embassy in Moldova, the scholarships of excellence will be offered due to a partnership agreement recently signed by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Romanians from Everywhere Relations Department and the New Europe Foundation – New Europe College (NEF/NEC).
The agreement was signed by the coordinating State Secretary of RERD, Mihai Gheorghiu and the rector of NEF/NEC, Andrei Gabriel Plescu.
According to the same source, the partnership between the two institutions grounds on the MFA-RERD objective of strengthening the national cultural patrimony by creating an active partnership between the Romanian from inside and outside the country, as well as on the statutory goals of NEF/NEC related to promoting international contacts idea exchange in the cultural and scientific fields.
The agreement stipulates that resident citizens of Romania can also benefit from these scholarships, but they have to research the cultural patrimony of Romanian from outside the country.
