Romania will donate 100,000 Pfizer doses to Moldova

Romania will offer the Republic of Moldova 100,620 Pfizer/BioNTech doses of vaccine against COVID-19 that were bought by the Ministry of Health of Romania. A decision to this effect was taken by the Government of Romania on July 8, IPN reports.

According to the Prime Minister of Romania Florin Cîțu, the delivery of the vaccine doses will be ensured by the Ministry of Internal Affairs through the agency of the Department for Emergency Situations, the specialized institutions subordinated to it or the Ministry of National Defense.

In a reaction after the announcement, President Maia Sandu said the assistance comes as a result of the discussion she had with Prime Minister Florin Cîțu several weeks ago. She thanked the Romanian authorities for their receptivity and for the fact that they every time provided a swift response to the requests to help the Republic of Moldova.

Romania during the past few months offered Moldova over 500,000 vaccine doses.
