The presence of European leaders at the European Political Community Summit demonstrates not only the support, but also the commitment of the European Union to help Moldova in its European journey, stated the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, on her arrival at the Mimi Castle in Bulboaca, where the second EPC summit being held.

When asked by reporters how achievable Moldova’s goal to get EU membership by 2030 is, considering the Transnistrian issue among others, Roberta Metsola stated that “the presence of European leaders at the summit taking place in Moldova is not only to show the support for the country, but also the commitment to develop this country and to talk about the negotiations in the European Parliament that will start already this year”, said the European official.

Roberta Metsola said she was happy to be back in Moldova, the country where on May 21, 80 thousand citizens “proved that they want to join the European Union”. She added that Moldova belongs in the European Union and that this goal can be achieved when the country is ready.
