More than 80 trucks stay parked by the roadside where there is sleet. According to the National Patrolling Inspectorate, 40 trucks stay at the entrance to Anenii Noi district, on the serpentines between the villages Fundul Galbenei and Buțeni of Hâncești district. A number of 22 trucks stay parked at a gas station in Căușeni and another 26 trucks in Ștefan Vodă, IPN reports.
The Inspectorate said there is sleet in the central districts of the country. It snows in parts in northern Moldova and there is glazed frost and snow in the southern districts. There are no blocked roads.
The Căușeni – Săiți road is closed to traffic until antiskid material is spread there . In Căușeni, Criuleni and Ștefan Vodă, they travel with difficulty on the roads. The specialized services disperse antiskid materials. The traffic participants are warned to travel cautiously.
According to the Government’s press service, Prime Minister Pavel Filip in the morning of January 25 had a discussion with all the services involved in the works to alleviate the consequences of unfavorable weather. No power outages were reported. The situation is more difficult in the southern and southeastern districts of the country, such as Hâncești, Cimișlia, Cahul, Cantemir, Anenii Noi, Căușeni and Ștefan Vodă.
The Cahul – Giurgiulești, Anenii Noi – Ștefan Vodă – Căușeni and Comrat – Cantemir roads were temporarily closed to large trucks. Last night the passengers travelling on the Tiraspol-Etulia route were accommodated at the old people’s home in Taraclia, Căușeni, owing to the icy roads. Six units of transport with eight persons inside got stuck on the Căușeni – Săiți road. Rescuers towed these away. A number of 75 units of transport remained blocked all over the country and needed the assistance of rescuers.
