A number of roads that connect Chisinau City with the 18 suburban localities of the municipality were repaired in 2024. Thus, safer and more comfortable access for public and private transport was ensured, IPN reports.
According to the municipality, capital repair works were carried out last year on the access roads to Colonița village, from the direction of Tohatin commune, to Budești village and Dobrogea village in Sîngera suburb.
In Colonița, works were carried out to widen the roadway and adjust the curbs to ensure better visibility. At the same time, drainage ditches were set up and the base of the road was reinforced with recycled asphalt and cement.
In Budești, 1 km of road, from the local mayor’s office to the M5 national road, was fully reconstructed. On the section connecting Budești to Chisinau, repair works were executed.
In Sîngera and Dobrogea, the access road was completely rehabilitated and two key intersections were modernized.
Also in 2024, maintenance works were carried out on the access roads in Dumbrava, Trușeni, Ghidighici, Condrița, Stauceni, Cricova, Ciorescu, Făurești, Goianul Nou, Grătiești, Hulboaca, Floreni, Dobrogea, Colonița, Budești, Bubuieci, Bîc, Cruzești, Cheltuitor, Buneți and Vadul lui Vodă. Also, almost 40 million lei was allocated from the municipal budget for the repair and construction of roads in the suburbs of Codru, Cricova, Ciorescu, Vatra, Băcioi, Bubuieci, Cruzești, Tohatin, Trușeni, Budești, Condrița.
From 2020 until now, the Chisinau City Hall invested over 140 million lei in the modernization of local roads and street lighting in the 18 suburban settlements.
