The Reunion of the Heads of the Diplomatic and Consular Missions of the Republic of Moldova is to take place on July 24-27, at the Palace of the Republic, at which different aspects of Moldovan diplomacy and activity of the diplomatic missions will be discussed in order to implement the foreign priorities of the country. In the first day of the reunion, the deputy prime-minister, the minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the heads of diplomatic and consular mission, as well as the heads of the departments of MFAEI will present speeches. The subjects discussed at the reunion will be: intensifying the diplomatic efforts in the process of European integration and regional cooperation; the role of diplomatic missions in the process of settling the Transnistrian dispute; economic and humanitarian aspects of Moldovan diplomacy, promoting the country’s image, trade and attracting foreign investments; protecting the interests of state and of the Moldovan citizens working abroad, the problem of migration and trafficking in human beings. At the reunion, the heads of the diplomatic and consular missions will meet with the president Vladimir Voronin, with the deputy speaker of the Parliament, Maria Postoico and with the prime-minister Vasile Tarlev. In the same period, a round-table with the participation of the heads of the news agencies will be organized; the Science Academy of Moldova and the district center of Ungheni will be visited. The previous reunion of ambassadors took place in the summer of 2004.
