Restrictions for all markets, shopping centers and hospitality industry to be lifted June 1

The markets in the municipalities of Chisinau and Bălți and also the hospitality industry and public food services will resume work on June 1 if the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health accepts such a proposal, President Igor Dodon stated after the May 25 meeting of senior state officials, being quoted by IPN.

The Commission will also be asked to lift the restrictions for shopping centers, international passenger transport and sport and fitness halls as of June 1. “If the Commission for Public Health accepts today this proposal, restrictions after June 1 will remain in force only for the education system, kindergartens and schools, and for assemblies larger than 50 persons,” said President Dodon.

He noted the proposal was formulated following “positive dynamics” in the evolution of COVID-19. The data provided by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection show the number of persons who recovered increased, while number of deaths decreased last week.
