Restrictions at methane stations on the left bank of the Dniester River remain in place

Methane filling stations in the Transnistrian region continue to operate in energy crisis mode. Only the vehicles of communal housing services, vehicles of the security forces and budget vehicles are being supplied, IPN reports.

The regional press reports that the restrictions are being maintained until a special order is issued.

They have been introduced in the context of the Russian Gazprom's halting of gas supplies to the region.

Moldovagaz has been delivering gas to the Transnistrian region since 1 February under a 3 million cubic meter loan contract recently signed with Tiraspoltransgaz.

The European Union has allocated 20 million euros from a larger grant for gas purchases for consumers on the left bank of the Dniester. According to the Energy Ministry, this money will also be used to keep an MGRES block in operation until February 10.
