Professionalism, representativeness and results achieved in the previous elections are the criteria used by parties to draw up the lists of candidates for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. The Democrats and the representatives of the party led by Mark Tkaciuk said it was hard for them to make the list as the party includes many professionals, while the representatives of the PPPDA said they do not hurry to submit the documents to the CEC and call on the people who embrace their values to join their team, IPN reports.
The Democrats said they consider the result achieved at elections does not depend on the place on the ballot. They compiled their electoral list primarily according to the criterion of professionalism. “We took into account the representativeness, professionalism and reputation and also the involvement. We took into account the results of the local elections of 2019. The first 20 candidates on the PDM’s list are people who distinguished themselves in the Government or at the local level, attracting projects for the development of the community, mayors,” Democratic MP Nicolae Ciubuc stated in the talk show “Ghețu Asks” on TV8 channel.
The representatives of the Civic Congress Party, which was already registered as an election runner, said their party will bring upright people who didn’t discredit themselves in politics the past few years to the forefront. “Our list represents the social structure of the Republic of Moldova. It does not include persons who asserted themselves on the political arena during the past seven years. We have teachers, doctors, people of science and laborers on our list. Half of the candidates are women. The party is financed only with membership fees and donations made by the country’s citizens, not from outside,” said Iurie Muntean, a member of the party’s Executive Committee.
The representatives of the PPPDA are finishing their list of candidates and will make it public next week. “We do not have dissentions about the list. We welcome people who have the same values as we do. In accordance with the law, the last day for submissions is June 11 and we will meet this deadline,” said PPPDA MP Inga Grigoriu.
The Central Election Commission on May 21 registered the first six election contenders for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. The election campaign for each contender starts when they are officially registered.
