According to the information of the National Bank, Moldovans who work abroad wired USD 76.21 mln to Moldova in July using the banking system, including through quick systems – USD 54.93 mln. On the whole USD 453.13 mln were transferred through the banking system in the first 7 months of 2006. According to the estimation of international financial bodies, unofficial transfers constitute about a half of the sum presented officially. In light of this fact, the total transfers made by Moldovans who work abroad amounted to USD 650 mln in January-July and USD 114 mln in July. This year, transfers through banking systems could range from USD 800 to 900 mln, compared with USD 683 mln in 2005, and the total transfers, including unofficial, will reach the total sum of USD 1.2-1.35 bln.
