The Bureau for Reintegration Policies said the video images with the recent incident involving a military helicopter in the Transnistrian region contain obvious elements of video montage. This indicates that the helicopter fire was caused by other factors than the drone shown in the images. More such actions are planned to be staged by the Russian Federation in the perimeter of the Transnistrian region and the Security Zone in the immediate period, IPN reports.
The responsible institutions of the Republic of Moldova carefully analyzed the video images broadcast on various social media networks and by the media on the left bank of the Nistru River. Following the carried out analyses and the gathered information, it was concluded that the disseminated materials contain obvious elements of video montage. According to the Reintegration Bureau, the incident was deliberately provoked in order to create panic and maintain tensions in society on both banks of the Nistru.
“According to our information, it is important to inform the public that, in the next period, more such actions are planned to be taken by the Russian Federation in the perimeter of the Transnistrian region and the Security Zone. In the absence of the possibility of militarily attacking the Republic of Moldova, such actions aim to increase panic, induce distrust in society and weaken the economy. We stress that such actions have no real consequences and do not pose a real danger to the citizens, and are planned only to scare the people,” reads a press release from the Bureau.
The institution noted that the responsible authorities of the Republic of Moldova, in cooperation with foreign partners, are closely monitoring the situation in the region.
A week ago, the media in the Transnistrian region reported that a kamikaze drone hit a helicopter on the territory of a military unit in Tiraspol and exploded. The drone allegedly came from the direction of the Klevernyi Bridge in Ukraine. There were no victims, but a criminal case was started on this case. The Bureau for Reintegration Policies described the case as an attempt to cause fear and panic in the region, noting that the military equipment in the images distributed by the local Telegram channel has been derelict for several years.
