A Finnish company will begin revamping the Chisinau – Hancesti road in two months. Initially, a part of 14 km of the road will be reconstructed, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a communique by the Ministry of Constructions and Territorial Development. The reconstruction works will be performed on the basis of the Agreement of Crediting with the European Investment Bank, according to the Strategy of Ground Transportation Infrastructure for 2008 – 2017. The total cost amounts to 13.5 million euro. According to the contract, the rehabilitation works will be performed during 2009-2010. A contract of performing these works was signed by the State Road Administration and Lemminkainen company on Monday, January, 19. Moldova has ratified two agreements in October, 2007, which provide for granting Moldova some credits valuing 60 million euros for rehabilitating the roads, including the selected segments of the Chisinau-Hancesti road and of the Chisinau-Orhei road. This money is to be used for reconstructing other segments of the main highways on a length of about 300 km.
