The Chess Federation of the Republic of Moldova invites children and young people to the National Junior Chess Championship. The competition will take place between March 3 and 9, 2025 at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, in the Student HUB, IPN reports.

According to the organizers, the event will be held according to the FIDE regulations and the games will be played for 90 minutes, plus 30 seconds for each move.

The contenders will be awarded trophies, medals and diplomas, and the best players will also receive cash prizes in the amount of 1,000 lei (first place), 700 lei (second place) and 500 lei (third place).

The aim of the initiative is to promote chess in schools and educational centers, to highlight the cognitive advantages of this game and to create an active community of young chess enthusiasts.
