Regional security discussed by Minister Popescu and Romania’s Ambassador Ioniță

The Republic of Moldova is for having a dialogue on European security and pleads for holding this in a peaceful and constructive atmosphere, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, stated in a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania in Chisinau Daniel Ioniță, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said the two officials discussed the preparations for the future joint meeting of the two Governments.

“We welcomed the very dynamic political dialogue and agreed to accelerate the implementation of bilateral projects in key sectors that are covered by the roadmap concerning the priority areas of cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Moldova that was signed in Bucharest on November 23, 2021,” stated Nicu Popescu.

He also had a meeting with Russia’s Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov. The officials conferred on the development of the bilateral relationship and on subjects of common interest. “We confirmed our readiness to maintain a dialogue at all the levels and to organize a number of bilateral visits in the immediate period,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.

The officials also exchanged opinions about the sides’ view on regional security.
