Reformist Communist Party presents electoral platform

The Reformist Communist Party of Moldova on September 10 announced that it will take part in the November 30 parliamentary elections independently. In a news conference, members of the party presented 10 priorities and 15 theses that represent the party’s electoral platform, IPN reports.

The party’s leader Ruslan Popa made public the government program that includes the replacement of representative democracy with participatory democracy. Thus, the head of state would be elected by the people, the foreign policy course would be decided by referendum, the length of the executive’s mandate would be halved, while the mayors would be named by a professional contest. “The whole political and administrative class must be replaced by a young and incorruptible class as in other countries such as Singapore,” he stated.

In the economy, the Reformist Communists aim to privatize the companies so that the employees own 49% of their capital and receive dividends besides the salary, while the workweek would be reduced to four days. Farmers’ land would be rented by the state. “There are farmers who cultivate the land correctly, but they are few in number. Most of the farmers do not manage to cultivate the land and it degrades. But the land is the only valuable thing of Moldova,” said the party’s leader.

The Reformist Communist Party will plead for reforming the fiscal system so that the people pay for a patent and work through the year based on it. The reserve fund of the state should be used to make major investments in infrastructure so as to create jobs at home for the Moldovans working abroad. “The salaries will be as high as abroad, but they will work at home,” stated Ruslan Popa. Meanwhile, the relatives of the migrant workers will receive increased pensions so as to look after the children of those who went abroad to work.

The party also intends to raise the pensions and unemployment benefit up to the minimum consumer basket, which should be recalculated as it is currently of about 2,500 lei. The necessary funds will be collected by imposing higher taxes on the rich ones, except for philanthropists. “If you want to drive a Rolls Royce, pay taxes and drive,” said the politician.

The Soviet education system with ten classes and with exams only on admission to higher education establishments would be restored, the military service would be done on a contract basis, while the persons convicted of minor offences (jail terms of up to five years) would be amnestied and rehabilitated.

The Reformist Communist Party is a new party founded by former members and sympathizers of the Communist Party of Moldova. The party held the constitution congress on May 3, 2014 and was registered at the Ministry of Justice on June 23, 2014.
