The recultivation and closure of the temporary garbage dump in the Ciocana sector of the capital is one of the priority objectives within the second phase of the municipal project "Solid Waste Chisinau", the acting director of the "Autosalubritate" Regia, Igor Girlea, told IPN.

"We are talking about the design of recultivation of the Ciocana garbage dump. In August, we signed the contract for the recultivation of this temporary dump used between 2010 and 2017, which brought a lot of trouble to the nearby commune and the sector itself. We are moving at the set pace and plan to finalize the design in the near future and start the recultivation works when the weather conditions will allow it", said Igor Girlea.

The process of recultivation and closure will be organized according to European standards. The design will be completed in a few months, and the implementation of recultivation is estimated to take 12 months, said Igor Girlea.
