Two men were arrested on suspicion that they intended to sell 10,000 Ecstasy pills. The drugs, brought from the Netherlands, were to be sold at national recreation places. On the black market, the 10,000 pills cost 4 million lei, IPN reports.
The two men, aged 26 and 45, are from Anenii Noi and Chisinau, respectively. The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the arrest implied a high risk as one of the offenders was armed. He legally owned a TT pistol. The special police brigade “Fulger” became involved.
The men face 7 to 15 years in jail and ban on carrying out a particular activity for a period of two to five years.
The prosecutors ask for a 30-day arrest warrant for the two.
