The chairman of the Parliament’s commission for economy, budget and finance Radu Marian said that he is surprised by the remarks made by Sergiu Tofilat, a member of the Supervisory Board of Moldovagaz. The MP has told IPN that Tofilat's bill, regarding the appointment of temporary administrators at energy companies, should have first reached the Ministry of Energy, the primary institution in charge of energy policies in the country.

"I’m surprised by these remarks. I sent a clear message about this bill back in summer, namely that the Ministry of Energy is the primary institution in charge of energy policies in the country and that this bill should be registered with the Ministry so that this proposed it for consultations. I also sent this message after the elections. Mr. Tofilat knew this from the beginning as he was constantly discussing with the minister," said the head of the parliamentary commission for economy.

With reference to the substance of the draft law, whether or not it solves a concrete problem for the people, Radu Marian said that he will pronounce on it after the document reaches Parliament from the Government. "The people want the energy resources that come to the country to have reasonable costs and stable sources. The people are not interested in soap operas and political intrigues," MP Radu Marian has told IPN.

Sergiu Tofilat on Friday wrote on Facebook that there is a risk that Moldovagaz will not be able to buy natural gas and the gas reserves are enough until the end of December. According to him, under these conditions, urgent action must be taken. However, JSC Moldovagaz has been without management for two months. Tofilat proposed, as a solution, to name external managers so as to ensure the normal functioning of the company and published a draft law that stipulates such a lever, mentioning that he sent it to Radu Marian in September.
