Radu Albot starts off on right foot at Roland Garros

Currently World No. 40, Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot had a good start at the Roland Garros Garden Slam tournament, IPN reports.

He beat Tennys Sandgren of the U.S., who is on the 100th spot in the ATP rankings, 7-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-1 in a game that lasted for three hours. In the next round, Albot plays Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff, World No. 45, who eliminated Canada’s Denis Shapovalov, currently 24th in the ATP rankings.

World leaders Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Rafael Nadal of Spain, with the last winning Roland Garros for 11 times, are the top seeds of the competition.
