Moldova’s Radu Albot beat American player Ernesto Escobedo, who is world No. 77, in the first round of the US Open. He won by four sets, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 and 6-4, IPN reports.

In the second round, Albot will meet Lu Yen-Hsun of Taipei, who takes the 63rd spot in the ATP rankings. The 34-year-old player eliminated Russia’s Karen Khachanov, world No. 30, in the first round.

Radu Albot is competing in the main competition of the US Open Grand Slam tournament for the fourth time.
