Radu Albot didn’t manage to qualify for the final of the Grand Slam tournament Australian Open. He was eliminated in the second qualifying round this morning, January 16, IPN reports.
Albot was beaten by Germany’s Matthias Bachingher, who takes the 142nd position in the ATP rankings, by 6-1, 6-7, 6-2. Moldova’s best tennis player, who is the 172nd in the ATP rankings, failed to qualify for the final of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year for the fourth consecutive time. In the first qualifying round of the competition, he defeated Niels Desein of Belgium by 6-3, 6-2.
The final of the Melbourne tournament will take place between January 19 and February 1.
