Radu Albot beaten in final of ATP tournament “Kremlin Cup”

Radu Albot missed the chance to win the second ATP tournament in his career. The Moldovan tennis player lost the doubles final at the “Kremlin Cup”, IPN reports.

Albot played together with Frantisek Cermak of the Czech Republic, the two being beaten in the final in Moscow by the representatives of the hosts Andrei Rubliov and Dmitri Tursunov. The Moldovan-Czech pair won the first set by 6-2 after only 28 minutes, but lost the next two sets by 1-6, 6-10.

Given that they competed in the doubles final of the ATP tournament in Moscow, Radu Albot şi Frantisek Cermak earned US$20,300 and 150 points in the ATP doubles rankings.

Radu Albot also competed in the singles at the “Kremlin Cup”. He qualified for the final, but was eliminated by Russia’s Andrei Kuznetsov (84th in the ATP rankings) by 4-6 2-6 in the first round.
