PUN seeks exclusion of Shor Party from electoral race

The National Unity Party (PUN) filed a challenge to the Central Election Commission by which it asks to remove the Shor Party from the electoral race for using undeclared funds in the election campaign. PUN also submitted a denouncement to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office based on Article 181, par. (1) of the Penal Code – voter corruption, IPN reports.

“This way, despite the fact that the Shor Party on its official website presents a bill entitled “Social Stores”, it didn’t report the costs incurred for running these stores. For this violation, the law provides the exclusion of the electoral contender from the race as a punishment. We note that under Article 41 par. (4) and (5) of the Electoral Code, all the costs associated with the election campaign are covered with money from the Electoral Fund account. The election contestants are banned from offering money to voters, from distributing goods, including from humanitarian aid or other charitable actions,” stated the PUN.

The Shor Party hasn’t yet reacted to the PUN’s move. Candidate for MP on behalf of the Shor Party Violeta Ivanov said she is busy and cannot talk as she is at a meeting with voters together with other mates.
