The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission approved the instruction on the conduct of elections in conditions of pandemic, IPN reports.

The electoral bureaus and polling stations will be supplied with hand sanitizers and the rooms will be disinfected once in three hours and aired frequently. The persons will have to maintain physical distance of at least one meter between them and to wear face masks. The observance of the hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene rules is mandatory as is the measuring of the temperature of functionaries and auxiliary personnel present in the electoral bureau. It is recommended establishing polling stations in other institutions than the early education ones.

The persons who will not be able to travel to polling stations, including those who will have symptoms of acute respiratory infections (temperature higher than 37 degrees Celsius, coughing, breathing difficulties) will be able to vote at the place of stay after filing an application to this effect on the election day, until 3pm.

If voting at the place of stay is not possible and the person has signs of disease, this will be able to vote at the polling station by being given priority way to the polling booth and having minimum contact with the members of the persons inside the station. When the person leaves, the surfaces will be disinfected.

The persons in quarantine will be able to vote at the place of stay by submitting an application to the electoral bureau of the polling station close to the voter’s domicile or residence starting with two weeks before the election day and by 6pm of the day prior to the election day and by 3pm on the election day.

A limited number of persons will be allowed to enter the polling station, equal to the number of used polling booths. The voters are urged to take a pen from home for putting the signature on the voter rolls.
