PSRM demands restoration of direct flights to Russia and resumption of bank transfers

The Party of Socialists demands the lifting of sanctions imposed by the Moldovan authorities against Russia. The request concerns the restoration of direct flights to the Russian Federation, the resumption of bank transfers, as well as the initiation of negotiations to obtain cheaper energy resources and open up the market, IPN reports.

At a press conference, PSRM leader Igor Dodon said the party advocates preserving statehood and will base its work solely on Moldova's national interests.

"We have several basic principles that we have consistently upheld throughout the entire existence of the PSRM and that we will continue to respect," the Socialist leader said.

According to Igor Dodon, the state language of the Republic of Moldova is Moldovan, as the majority of citizens believe, according to the latest census. The politician also says he supports the study of Moldovan history in schools.

Igor Dodon says traditional values are a priority for socialists. "The family is the union between a man and a woman. We demand the ban by law and the introduction of criminal liability for LGBT propaganda in any form," the PSRM leader stressed.

Igor Dodon also said that the PSRM advocates neutrality. However, according to him, the construction of a military base in Băcioi and the purchase of armaments do not correspond to national interests, and this must be stopped immediately, the politician said.
