The Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its foundation. The solemn meeting held in July 1 brought together about 700 participants, among whom representatives of the diplomatic corps and 11 delegations from seven countries. The party’s administration spoke about the main accomplishments of the PSRM and reiterated the objective to win a majority of seats of MP in the next parliamentary elections, IPN reports.
Attending the event, President Igor Dodon, who headed the party in 2011-2016, said the PSRM showed in time that it is a party with identity, with ideology and uprightness without which a party does not have a future. The PSRM is associated with the keeping of Moldova’s statehood, good relations with the Russian Federation, opposition to entry into NATO and preservation of Christian values.
The Party of Socialists won the presidential elections and its victory in the next legislative elections is inevitable. The PSRM, as the Republic of Moldova, has a nice and bright future, stated President Dodon.
Chairwoman of the Party of Socialists Zinaida Grecheanyi said the PSRM is the party that always struggled for the interests of the people, at the level of local authorities, at the Constitutional Court and in courts of law. The Socialist MPs suggested dozens of social legislative initiatives that envision protection measures for the people such as the reduction in retirement age and rise in pensions. Alongside its members and sympathizers, the PSRM staged hundreds of events nationwide.
Zinaida Grecheanyi also said that the victory in the 2018 parliamentary elections and the formation of a new government that will really serve the people are the main goals of the PSRM.
