MPs of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) requested the Constitutional Court to pronounce on the method of indexing pensions in 2023, IPN reports.
“Last year, the social insurance budget was adopted by the PAS parliamentary majority during a very short period of time. This budget contains a lot of social inequities that we will continue to raise in Court,” MP Vladimir Odnostalco told the press.
He noted that in accordance with the law, the indexation on April 1 is based on the rate of inflation at the end of the previous year. “Regrettably, the 2023 state budget that was drafted by the Government and was adopted by Parliament stipulates an indexation rate of 14.4%. I want to draw attention to the fact that the rate of inflation in December was 33.8%. The difference is of 19.6% or almost 20%. It is for the first time in the last 15 years that the state does not index the pension in accordance with the rate of inflation,” stated Vladimir Odnostalco.
The MP also accused the current government of stealing from the poorest and most vulnerable citizens.
