Pseudo-specialists dispossess residents of Chisinau of water meters

A number of unidentified persons posing as employees of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” have entered the apartments of residents of Chisinau in order to take the water meters for metrological testing. In this connection, the public utility warns that its employees are not involved in such activities, IPN reports.

“The pseudo-specialists inform the dwellers that the water meters installed in their apartments weren’t subject to metrological testing in 2015. Invoking ‘provisions’ of Law No. 303 concerning the public water supply and sewerage service, the end-users are told that starting with January the dwellers whose water meters do not meet the utilization norms will have to pay the water losses, which will be distributed equally between them,” said the company.

SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” warns the consumers to use the services of specialists of licensed firms so as not to become victims of swindlers and to avoid unjustified costs when the meters need to be subject to metrological testing. In all the cases, receipts must be issued for the provided services.

The company notes that its employees are not involved in such measures. It is the duty of each consumer to have the water meters tested when their metrological permit expires.
