The Social Democratic Party (PSD) asked the Prosecutor General’s Office to request the legislature to lift the parliamentary immunity of the lawmakers involved in schemes of political corruption. The party also asked starting a criminal case over the corrupting of deputies of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the party, during the four years of government by the Alliance for European Integration and the Pro-European Coalition, the political migration intensified. “The political corruption in Moldova exceeded all the limits and the bodies empowered with rights must exclude this illegality from the political practice and condemn those involved in such transactions,” reads the communiqué.
At the end of last week, a number of MPs said that individuals tried to corrupt them so that they left their parties and formed a new parliamentary group.
