The provision of 600 lei in financial support to particular categories of pensioners was possible also owing to the reforms done during the past few years. Furthermore, the economic growth was s starting point. Such opinions were stated in the talk show “Reply” broadcast on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
Head of the National House of Social Insurance Laura Grecu said such a measure wasn’t applied the previous years. The necessary financial resources, 637 million lei, could be identified this year for providing assistance to about 500,000 persons. “The government comes up with proactive measures that would improve the situation of pensioners. I refer to the about 600 lei in aid, the rise in pensions as of January 1 next year and other beneficial measures,” stated Laura Grecu.
The head of Rezina district Eleonora Graur said the Government has taken a number of steps to increase the pensions and salaries. Initially, effort was made to ensure economic growth and conditions were created for supporting business entities. “These resources that accumulate in the state budget enable to ensure economic growth that allows supporting the citizens of this country,” stated Eleonora Graur. According to her, if the provision of financial support had been an electoral measure, they wouldn’t have worked on all the social reforms and programs launched until now.
Sociologist Ian Lisnevski said this is an electoral project as any party starts the election campaign when they just come to power. There were also other projects that led to the provision of financial assistance. The sum of 600 lei was offered as a bonus to the pension. “All these things and the economic growth produced this social benefit that is enjoyed by the people,” he stated.
Mihail Lașcu, president of the Trade Unions Federation Sindlex, said the sum of 600 lei is important for pensioners, especially if two persons receive such assistance in one family. “This is an additional income that can be used to purchase presents for grandchildren and food for the New Year’s meal. It is better than the previous years, when pensions could be paid with delay,” stated Mihail Lașcu.
The recipients of all types of pensions set before December 1 this year that are not larger than 2,000 lei will get by 600 lei in financial support.
