Protests supporting Moldova held in Bucharest

A group of about 50 persons, protested on Thursday, November 9 in front of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, requesting that Romanians from the left bank of the Prut River are not forgotten, Romanian newspaper “Ziua” reports, cited by Info-Prim Neo. The manifestation has been organized by the "21 decembrie1989" Association, "Noii Golani" action group, Pro-Basarabia and Bucovina Association, and the Hyde Park Association. The rally has been organized on November 9 because this date "has a particular symbolic value: 17 years since German people chose to pull down the Berlin Wall, a wall which divided it, showing thus the whole world that politic regimes are too weak to impede the will of a nation ", as the communiqué of the mentioned organizations says. On October 29, Unionist Movement of Moldova organized the Republican Assembly of Citizens (ARC) concerning the problem of supporting the initiative of the Romanian Rresident Traian Basescu on the Republic of Moldova’s integration into the EU together with Romania on January 1 2007. The protesters decided that a more ample action is organized on December 3, in case “the Parliament and President Voronin will not immediately start negotiations with the Romanian side concerning the unification of the two Romanian countries”.
