Employees of private early education institutions mounted a peaceful protest in front of the Government Building in the morning of August 6. They demanded that the authorities should reopen the private kindergartens on August 20, IPN reports.
“Waiting for the pandemic to pass is not a solution”, “We ask to reopen private kindergartens” “Children have the right to education; reopen kindergartens”, “Mental degradation is more serious than COVID-19”, “Private kindergartens are ready to work”, “We want to work” - said the participants, carrying placards with such messages.
The protesters brought toys, tables and chairs for children with them. They chanted: We want to work! We want solutions! We are ready to work! We are the solution! We go bankrupt!
Earlier, Prime Minister Ion Chicu announced that the kindergartens will not be opened earlier than September 1.
