Prosecutors have requested the Chisinau/Ciocana district court to issue a 30-day preventive arrest warrant against an unnamed former director of the state-run company Metalferos.
The Prosecutor General’s Office says in a press release that the former director is suspected of conspiring together with the oligarch Vlad Plahoniuc and other suspects to create and run a criminal organization that generated illegal gains in large proportions.
The suspect has been charged with large-scale fraud and money laundering.
Also, an investigation has been started to locate the former director after he failed to appear before prosecutors.
Last week, similar criminal charges have been issued against Vlad Plahotniuc in the Metalferos case. The Chisinau/Ciocana Court is to decide on the matter on Wednesday.
