The head of the Ungheni Prosecutor’s Office Dumitru Triboi, who was involved in the Bahmut road accident that resulted in four deaths, wasn’t suspended. The Superior Council of Prosecutors rejected acting prosecutor general Ion Munteanu’s request to suspend him from post, IPN reports.

The examination of the suspension of Dumitru Triboi from post started at the previous meeting. Then and today too, the issue was examined behind closed doors. After deliberations, the chairwoman of the Superior Council of Prosecutors Angela Motuzoc announced that the request was rejected.

The accident in Bahmut village of Călărași district occurred on October 21. The car driven by Dumitru Triboi violently hit a cart. A girl aged one month, her mother and her grandmother and a young man who was a relative of the family died as a result of the impact. The grandfather and the four-year-old sister of the baby girl suffered injuries.

The prosecutor, who took part in the SCP’s meeting online, is in custody.
