Promo-LEX observers reported more than one hundred incidents that occurred between 13:30 and 18:30. In total, since the opening of polling stations, between 07:00 and 18:30, Promo-LEX observers have reported over three hundred electoral incidents. The data was presented at an IPN press conference by Pavel Postica, the head of the Promo-LEX Observation Mission of the October 20 snap parliamentary and general local elections.
According to Pavel Postica, between 13:30 and 18:00, there were two cases of intimidation and psychological pressure on observers. One case occurred at a polling station in Soroca, while the other happened at a polling station in Sângera, Chișinău municipality. The first case involved electoral officials, while the second case involved observers monitoring on behalf of an electoral contestant.
The head of the Promo-LEX Mission added that, during the same time period, there were 11 new cases of poster display within polling station range and 12 new cases of electoral campaigning.
Promo-LEX observers have also reported three cases of rumors regarding attempts to bribe voters in order to vote a certain way. This happened in polling stations: Chișinău-Bubuieci, Chișinău-Sângera and Cimișlia-Valea Perjei. Pavel Postica said that law enforcement bodies are notified of these events. "We hope that during the next few days we will know more about these occurrences", said the head of the Promo-LEX Election Observation Mission.
Additionally, three new cases of organized voter transportation were reported. In Sângera, a car transported people several times to the polling station. Most passengers were elderly people or persons with special needs. Another case was registered in Slobozia, Ștefan Voda, where a car with foreign registration plates transported voters to the polling station, while one of the voters was intoxicated. In Ialoveni, a citizen was seen transporting people and accompanying them to the polling station.
At the general local elections, Promo-LEX has 307 observers in Chișinău, 59 in Bălți and 12 in Comrat.
