A palliative care center for terminally ill cancer patients is set to be established in the Republic of Moldova. The announcement was made by the administrator and founder of the Helmut Wolf Center in Ciuciuleni village. Valentina Geamana expressed concern that, due to a defamation campaign against her in the local community, the project risks losing its European funding.
The administrator of the Helmut Wolf Center, originally from Negrea village, Hancesti district, who lived for a long time in Italy, stated that her presence in Ciuciuleni is motivated by the need to protect European investments brought to this locality and to defend the image of the Republic of Moldova. "We are working on developing a unique project in the Republic of Moldova – 'Casa Diana,' a palliative care center for terminally ill cancer patients, based on a family-type care model," said Valentina Geamana at a press conference at IPN.
The founder of the Helmut Wolf Center in Ciuciuleni mentioned that, due to ongoing attacks from the local mayor, Gheorghe Grigoras, there is a risk of losing support from many individuals and organizations essential to this project. "I know that good always triumphs over evil and that this wonderful project will serve those in need," stated the founder of the Helmut Wolf Center.
Valentina Geamana reported that she became the target of the mayor's abuses, who distributes defamatory information among the villagers and on social media, where she was publicly attacked in a video. "It felt like I was in a horror scene, being accused of all possible wrongdoings," said the center's founder.
Valentina Geamana declared that she will no longer allow anyone to defame her. The administrator of the Helmut Wolf Center made a public appeal to the state leadership, embassies in the Republic of Moldova, and organizations that defend women's rights, seeking support and protection.
