Professional Movement “Speranţa – Nadejda” registered as election runner

The Professional Movement “Speranţa – Nadejda” (“Hope”) that is led by Andrei Donică was registered as a contender in the July 11 snap parliamentary elections. A decision to this effect was taken by the Central Election Commission on May 25, IPN reports.

CEC member Dumitru Pavel said the received documents meet the legal requirements. The Movement’s list includes 53 candidates for the post of MP, with the minimum gender quota of 40% being respected. The party’s electoral symbol on the ballot will represent an octagon with the words “Stop Genocide” placed in its center.

Five parties and two electoral blocs have been registered as election contenders so far. These are the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists, “Building Europe at Home” Party, the Common Action Civic Congress Party, the Electoral Bloc “Renato Usatîi”, the Party of Action and Solidarity, the Shor Party and the Movement “Speranţa – Nadejda” (“Hope”). The CEC is yet examining the files of the Democratic Party and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”.

The candidates can filed applications to be registered until June 11, which is not later than 30 days until the election day.
