The Cabinet agreed amendments to the law on the local pubic administration by which the procedure for transferring goods from the ownership of the local public authorities to public law subjects is simplified, IPN reports.
Currently, the territorial-administrative units are obliged to organize public tender contests when transferring all types of property, regardless of the type of transaction and the subjects to which the property is to be transferred. It was yet established that the current mechanism causes confusion and difficulties in implementation.
After the changes approved by the Cabinet are adopted by Parliament, the local public authorities will be able to lease out hospitals, schools, offices of the Civil Status Service and other facilities to the public law subjects without holding tender contests.
