The procedure for the amicable settlement of minor accidents can become effective starting from September 8, IPN reports.
The National Commission for Financial Market specifies, in a press release, that the procedure can be applied for accidents where only two vehicles have been involved and as a result of which only insignificant material damages were caused, the damage not exceeding 10 thousand lei.
One condition is that both drivers involved in the accident have an internal civil liability insurance policy (RCA) and that the culprit of the accident be established by mutual agreement.
Both drivers will fill in and sign the amicable accident settlement application form. Within two working days from the date of the accident, the application shall be filed with the culprit’s insurer, without the need for the drivers’ presence on the scene for police investigation. Therefore, there will be no contravention sanction.
The application form is issued on request by the insurance company where the RCA insurance policy was issued.
If an amicable settlement is not possible, the accident will be investigated by the police.
