The preparations for the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019 seen to have started, noted the  IPN Experts, making reference to the program “The Pole” on Accent TV channel.

MP Dumitru Diacov, president of honor of the ruling Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), confronted MP Vladimir Țurcan, heavyweight of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM). It should be noted that the two rival parties have many things in common. The most important factor is that their party elites consist of direct descendants of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM). It should also be noted that the two parties signed cooperation agreements with the ruling party of the Russian Federation – United Russia: the PDM on September 16, 2010, while the PSRM on June 8, 2017.

Therefore, it is not at all accidental that the two representatives dueled mildly. Even if the PDM, unlike the PSRM, also has agreements with parties from the EU (Romania, Bulgaria), it is possible to ensure political stability at the post-electoral phase, as it happened in 2012, when the two parties cooperated in order to do as many good things as possible, stated the experts.

The TV channels are the most used media source, being followed by social networking sites that are visited more often than the news or specialized sites. The radio stations are listened to rarer, mainly in the first half of the day, while newspapers are better known and more read by participants than the journals, shows the national mass media audience study commissioned by the Independent Journalism Center to Magenta Consulting.

The European course of the Republic of Moldova is further possible, no matter what some say, stated Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Daniel Ioniță. “A successful European course is first of all a profound process of democratic transformation of the country so that a part of the institutions in the Republic of Moldova have the capacity and necessary resistance to cope with challenges both domestic and foreign. It implies standard procedures, respect for the law and for the citizens. At the same time, this European course is further possible, no matter what some say,” he said.

Libraries should be regarded as institutions that support the sustainable development of communities. In  2019, all the libraries in Moldova will combine forces to become community centers and areas where the citizens come to access information and to correctly inform themselves. The priorities in the field of bibliotechonomy were set at the annual forum of managers of the national system of libraries that took place at the National Library in Chisinau.

The new law on libraries that will take effect next February says the library will not only ensure access to books and documents, but will also help the community members to develop by informal training activities and by modern and innovative services.

A monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy will be built in front of the building of the West Regional Division of the General Border Police Inspectorate in Ungheni town.

At the suggestion of the local authorities, a monument to victims of Stalinist deportations will be also built in Sireți village of Strășeni district.
