Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev seeks the drafting of a state programme on building of public baths. According to the governmental press service, Tarlev demanded the drafting of a programme on opening of public baths and an action plan on its implementation at a working sitting, at a working sitting. The status of public baths will be drafted and approved; their service will be established in parallel. According to Tarlev, the opening of public baths must become a priority for territorial development besides the gasification and construction of water pipes, while the public baths must provide a wide range of necessary services to citizens for prices accessible to all social layers. The director of the Agency for Regional Development, Igor Seminovcher, told the sitting that public baths function in 118 localities at present. Thirty-two public baths opened in 2005.
