A liter of gasoline “95” will cost almost 28 lei on May 6. The price ceiling for tomorrow was set at 27.97 lei per liter, up 0.21 lei. The highest price of diesel fuel rose by 0.07 lei and a liter on Friday will cost 27.63 lei, IPN reports.
The National Agency for Energy Regulation reminds that the fuel prices are influenced by the rise in quotations on international stock exchanges and the exchange rate of the national currency.
“The Platts quotations of gasoline and diesel fuel the past 14 days rose constantly to values ranging from $1.008 to $1,157 per tonne of gasoline and between $1,066 and $1,205 per tonne of diesel fuel. Consequently, the price of gasoline in the reference period on international stock exchanges grew by about $149 per tonne, while of diesel fuel – by $139 per tonne,” the Agency said in a press release.
It also said that the exchange rate of the national currency against the U.S. dollar increased by about 0.20 lei.
At the beginning of last September, a liter of gasoline “95” cost 20.23 lei, while a liter of diesel fuel –16.42 lei.
