The Capital mayoralty temporarily prohibited the district preturs to issue urbanism certificates for designing and construction warrants for building additional rooms in apartment blocks, as well as to change the destination of spaces. The interim mayor of Chisinau municipality, Vasile Ursu, signed a disposal in this sense. According to the mayor’s counselor, Ion Popa, this decision was adopted taking into account the fact that lately the number of litigations increased as result of issuing urbanism certificates, with serious violations of the legislation in force. According to Popa, the preturs do not respect the procedure of providing certificates, ignoring the engineering and security requirements. According to him, the results of the interdictions do not have as well an impact on the applicants, who already got authorizations to build additional spaces. The disposal, signed by the general mayor, entered in force on 31 July and expires when the appropriate changes will be made by the Chisinau Municipal Council regarding the Regulation on reorganizing preturs.
