Four young people were arrested being suspected of entering a man's apartment in Chisinau, beating him up and extorting 40,000 lei from him by pretending to be police officers, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate of Police, claiming to be police officers, the four entered the man's apartment on the pretext that they had to search the house, as he could have drugs.

They beat the man up, forced him into a car and took him to the forest, where they continued to abuse him. The suspects recorded all their actions on their smartphones.

The law enforcement bodies got hold of these records, which are to be used as evidence in the criminal case. Recently, the young people aged between 25-34 have been placed in detention for a 30-day term.
