“For all the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, I will be the best President, while for the despicable ones, I will be the toughest dictator,” said the Our Party’s candidate running in the October 20 presidential election. According to him, the changes he will make will involve “fighting against semi-political-semi-criminal or purely political and criminal groups” and, under such conditions, he is aware that he will need appropriate protection.
“That is why, when I take over as head of state, the State Guard and Protection Service will be one of the strongest in the world. Yes, I will have to travel in an armored car, as I did when I was mayor of Balti and I declared war on those who illegally controlled the revenues in the markets of the municipality,” said Renato Usatyi.
The candidate claims that, when he served as mayor of Balti, he had “generous” offers not to get involved in various lawsuits and was also threatened with death. At that time, he wore a bulletproof vest, but the revenues of the Balti markets increased by 200% during a very short time. Money appeared for the modernization of the second-hand market located on Pushkin Street. Money also appeared for the repair of the street near Baiducov Square, as well as for other projects.
“I will not be the President of the country who takes pictures in the queue at customs posts. If it is necessary for the economic interests of the country, I will travel abroad by private jets,” stated Renato Usatyi.
