The European Political Community Summit that the Republic of Moldova will host on June 1 will center on issues related to peace and security, energy resilience, climate actions and interconnections with Europe for a more stable continent, Presduent Maia Sandu stated in a news conference given together with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, who is in Chisinau on a visit, IPN reports.
“In our discussions, we also raised the European Political Community Summit that Moldova will host on June 1, 2023. This summit is a special occasion for Moldova and also for Europe. We are eager to welcome the 50 heads of state and government and the officials of the European Union in our country,” stated President Sandu.
She noted that the organization of the European Political Community Summit for Moldova is a proof of the firm commitment towards the European family and of the powerful diplomatic support it enjoys in a difficult moment.
“As the host country, we want to make sure that this summit is a productive and significant event that will contribute to the identification of solutions to the problems faced by Europe. The summit will focus on issues related to peace and security, energy resilience, climate actions and interconnections with Europe for a better connected and more stable continent,” said Maia Sandu.
The European Political Community was created last year on the initiative of the President of France Emmanuel Macron. The June meeting will be the second of the kind.
