President promulgates amendments to Law on Status of MP
Moldova’s Acting President Marian Lupu on February 17 promulgated amendments to the Law on the Status of MP, whereby the Parliament’s Apparatus is transformed into Secretariat, while the post of director general is replaced by the post of secretary general of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The structure of the Secretariat, the regulations on the organization and functioning and the strategic development plans are to be approved by the Standing Bureau.
The Parliament’s secretary general and his deputies will benefit from diplomatic passports, while the division heads, senior consultants of the Parliament’s Secretariat and parliamentary experts will be issued with work passports.
Other amendments to the law institute the post of assistant of the lawmaker. But these amendments will come into force on January 1, 2012. The leaders of parliamentary groups will be assisted by own councils that will consist of persons selected by the given leaders.
